The only way to do this properly is to use your stomach/diaphragm instead of your throat. It’s really hard to explain without being able to demonstrate (I learnt the technique in high school drama class when learning voice projection and adapted it), but a quick search tells me that ‘thoracic diaphragm screaming’ might be what I’m talking about. I’ve been doing screaming vocals for years now and this really is the only way I can sing/scream without destroying my throat. I never get a sore throat, unless I’m occasionally lazy and don’t use my stomach. Using my stomach also helps me keep in tune and makes everything more powerful.
The only problem I have with this is that it’s very draining when going hard. I have a part in a song right now that makes me push all the air out very forcefully with no break to breathe, and if I held it for half a second more I would probably pass out.
So basically, you have to bypass your throat by using your stomach. By doing this I never need any kind of throat remedies to repair/soothe, and I never lose my voice. There are probably videos on youtube?
